First Drafts!
After obtaining all the appropriate shape files/data sets, here are the first few set of map drafts:
The first map shows NYS with all school district boundary lines, bus routes, and all 2,795 patients plotted within.
The second map depicts what my client wanted as a final product:
The only difference between this and my first is that I performed a spatial join in order to cluster the sum of patients that reside within each of the school district boundary lines. It still appears a bit clustered - once you zoom in to the main cluster of patient locations you can more clearly see the sums of patients:
